Pouncey Tract Veterinary Hospital remains committed to providing the highest quality veterinary care during the Covid-19 global pandemic.

We want to assure you that your health and safety as well as the health of your beloved pet is our utmost concern.

Currently, Pouncey Tract Veterinary Hospital remains open and operating but starting July 1, 2021 we have elected to adjust our operating hours slightly. We will be opening at 7:30am but will be closing early at 5:30pm Monday-Friday. Saturday we will be open from 7:30am- 11:30am. 

We continued our already vigorous cleaning and sanitary procedures. Requiring hand washing by all staff members after every appointment, patient, and client interaction. Our staff continues to disinfect all surfaces, doorknobs, counters, computers, etc. multiple times throughout the day and thoroughly disinfect every exam room after each appointment. Pouncey Tract Veterinary Hospital staff members will also be minimizing direct human-to-human contact while following all CDC recommended hygiene practices.

Appointments: One client is allowed into the exam room per appointment with their pets. When arriving to the hospital please still call so we can make sure the room is properly disinfected and ready to be seen. One of our patient care coordinators will let you into the hospital and direct you to the disinfected exam room. The assistant will bring your pet back to the treatment area to the examined and the doctor will the come in to discuss all exam findings, treatment plans, recommendations, etc.  In order to limit people in the waiting area and maintain social distancing check-out will be in the exam room by one of our patient care coordinators.

Continued COVID-19 Protocol

  1. Continuing to offer our drop-off option for your pets to be seen by our doctors.
  2. Providing “Low Contact Appointments” by request. Please wait in your car in our parking lot and call our hospital at (804) 364-4444. If requested, one of our staff members will come out to the car and get your pet. Our doctors will then exam your pet while you wait in your car and call you to discuss exam findings (just like a normal appointment but all communication will be done over the phone instead of in the exam room).
  3. Curbside service for your pet’s medication, food pick up, technician appointment, surgery and dental check-ins, drop offs, pick-ups etc please stay in your car and call our hospital at (804) 364-4444 to have one of our staff members assist you.
  4. Please take advantage of our new client, and patient check in forms on our website for avoid staff/client prolonged interaction. The check in forms can be found on our website here

In the interest of all of our clients and staff, the Pouncey Tract Veterinary Hospital team requests that any client that are exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or breathing difficulties or has recently traveled out of the country to an area of high risk to please refrain from coming to our hospital and have a family member or friend bring in their pet or reschedule the appointment entirely.
